Almazbek Atambaev

Born September 17, 1956, Arashan village, Alamudun district, Chui region.

In 1980 graduated from the Moscow State University of Management.

Professional career:

1980 – Ministry of Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, engineer.

1981-1983 – Chief Engineer of the Road Servicing Administration No 4.

1983-1987 – different positions at the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.

1987-1989 – Deputy Chairman of the Pervomai District’s Administration.

1989-1997 – Director of the Scientific-Production Firm “Forum”.

1997-1999 – CEO of “Kyrgyzavtomash” corporation.

1999-2004 – Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Scientific-Production Firm “Forum”.

2004-2005 – Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Kyrgyzavtomash” corporation.

2005-2006 – Acting Minister, Minister of Economic Development, Industry and Trade of the Kyrgyz Public.

2006-2007 – Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic.

2007-April 2010 – social and political activist.

From April to June 2010 - First Deputy Chairman of the Provisional Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.

From November to December 2010 - Deputy of Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament of Kyrgyzstan), Head of SDPK (Social-Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan).

From December 20, 2010 to December 1, 2011 – Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic.

October 30, 2011 - elected as President of Kyrgyzstan.

From  December 1, 2011 - President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Awards:

1999 - Medal of the Kyrgyz Republic “Dank”,

2007 - Order of the Kyrgyz Republic “Danaker”.
